Leading Amalgamated Schools
Leading amalgamation is a complex and challenging task. The technical aspects of the amalgamation are well supported by the system but often the human and relational aspects are taken for granted or ignored. We help those leading amalgamation to negotiate the obstacles of bring two groups of professionals together and creating a new school. We work with leaders to support the moves you make to create a fresh and vibrant organisation in which everybody feels valued. We draw upon our experience in this field to offer unique perspectives that are of practical value to schools as they move through this stage of their development.
Our work with amalgamated schools involves:
- Enquiring into practice and promoting cross school understanding of strengths and areas for development
- Developing the new leadership team
- Supporting the leadership in the complex and often difficult task of building a new culture, climate and ethos in the school
- Coaching for the headteacher
- Providing school wide training focused on key areas identified by the school
